Yipikaye Mother Gifu

After a short-but-productive Friday night practice which was strangely heavy on the booze for some members, Mike started his day with a pre-battle war breakfast. I tried my best to sweat out a hangover on the sunny basketball court, while Pete soaked in a hotel onsen, post-bearing nuptual witness as a representative of Holy Yajweh. During this time Rob was hard at work, dealing out life lessons to students and teachers alike at his school. Everyone had their own thing going on, yet it was all to come to a Voltron-style combination around mid-afternoon.

Rob knocked off work and jumped straight on the 1st class Meitetsu µ train, complete with complimentary Dom Perignon, back massages and blowjobs, during which time Pete, Mike and I all boarded the standing-room-only JR express bound for Gifu. Upon arrival at Gifu station we found Rob (looking spent & content) on the street corner and proceeded to debate the necessity of a taxi to get to KJs. In the end walking won out, and we probed the back-alleys of Gifu's once bustling Yanagase red light district/shopping mall until we found the correct point of entry to KJs.

Proceeding a quick sound check, preceeding which an innocent Marshall combo was found dead, we decided to duck off and grab some grub whilst owners Kazu and John sorted out a pressing issue. Pete showed us to a homely little chain izakaya named Murasaki which had been thought to have become all but extinct until recently. At said establishment we were tempted by standard delicacies such as fried chicken and chips, as well as some more eclectic fare involving whale bacon and raw horse. We did manage to be good boys this time and went for the regular sized beers and not the jumbo triple strength Jim Beam & Cokes that brought some of us unstuck last week in Yokohama. After having our fill, it was all we could do to make it back to KJs and be awesome for a few more hours.

And so as it turned out, we had a great time. The gig was a bloody great success! KJs turned out to be an excellent venue to test out new and old material while mixing a few covers into our set. In what is apparently a rare event for such a rowdy act, the police were not called at all, which which may have a lil' something to do with the neighbour feeling sheepish after getting caught red-handed stealing electricity the day previous, however I'd prefer to believe it was because we simply weren't sucking at any point that night.

The lovely people of Gifu surprised us by draining our t-shirt supply and a few friends came from afar to join us for the night. Special shout-out to Bad Influence Motorcycle Club (Facebook) who came out all the way from Toyota City to see us!

Next up is Rock City Toyohashi with Xandra Corpora Band on Saturday the 10th of September, tearing up the town in Nagoya on the 24th of September at GC Live in Shin-Sakae. We'll also be appearing in Tokyo on October 22nd at What the Dickens in Ebisu. Be sure to keep an eye out for our new single Who Is Real? for which Pete and I will be tracking vocals this week. You can hear it live at one of our shows right now.

Also trending within molotov at the moment: prosodic intonation systems, fake celebrity butts, and Whitesnake.
