Game Over Humans! With 2017 now in full decent upon us, we have so much to look forward to. A new single, new music video and rocking live-shows. What's better is that the explosive dust is settling nicely from the announcement of our new band name. It's never easy for a band, let alone a band that has so much rooted history like molotov (u.s.k.) to change its name. But it was a needed change.
GOH just had its first show at GC Live last week. This show was to welcome in 2017 and to also welcome back Luke's family (Mom & Dad) to Japan who are here for a short visit to catch up with their son to make sure he is still alive and well. The show was intimate... well as intimate as pizza, beers and rock music can be. Never a bad combination though. With Game Over Humans being supporting by Y'all ( a southern rock band led by Michael Wade) the night went as planned except for the 40cms of snow that fell from the first winter storm. Snow has never stopped rock and roll and it didn't that night either. Beer was drunk, pizza was had and for the people that were there the infectious rock kept them warm and wanting more... (or was it the pizza and beer?) One of the best comments I got after the show was "Why aren't more people checking you guys out?" "Best rock band in Nagoya at the moment." Well, I can never say " the best", but I can ask the same question. Luke's family was well impressed, too. I've known them for about 10 years and they have seen Luke and I in a few different projects. They were over the moon to witness Luke team up with Pete, Rob and I for this band. "You guys need to play on a bigger stage!" Shouted from Dad. All in due time, my friend. All in due time.
So what's next for GOH? To start with, we are in the beginning stages of planning our music video shoot. We hope to release the song "Who is Real?" with the video early spring. Between shows, video shooting and rehearsals, we will start preproduction on the new E.P. The direction this band is taking is a mix of Muse, meets Foo Fighters with a splash of 90's grunge. Very exciting times with all of our creative juices flowing. Please keep watching for updates and if you want to hear what's being created in the local music scene, drop in another quarter and come out to shows to help support it.
Lastly, what do you think of the new name? And do you like our new logo? Be honest. Your opinion will be heard.
